WALK and TALK

WHY CHOOSE A ‘WALK and TALK’ SESSION?

A Walk and Talk session is extremely useful for people who have a new dog or puppy, or maybe a rescue dog, and want to make sure they do things right … right from the start. This outdoor training session gives you clear strategies you can use daily, motivating your trainee to be much more responsive to you.

Some owners request a Walk and Talk as they need some support with a dog that exhibits a misbehaviour in the outside world. For example, your trainee might …

  • become too exuberant when walking outside the home
  • pull ‘like a train’ when walking on lead
  • bark at or lunge at other dogs
  • react to vehicles passing by
  • become anxious when ‘new people’ approach
  • may not have good recall

WHAT’S INVOLVED?

Brian often meets people and their dog in Bexhill where varied stimuli (dogs, joggers, skateboards, seagulls, sea smells etc) can help create a real-life environment. Brian often brings one of his dogs along too (who won’t react to your dog) and shows you how to improve your dog’s behaviour and increase responsiveness as the walk progresses. The session is tailored to your dog and your individual needs.

‘When and how to praise and correct’ play a part of the information given and there are MANY other ways this session will help promote good behaviour (indoors and outdoors) and your handling skills will benefit too. The meeting will also improve your confidence levels and give you an opportunity to ask any questions face-to-face.
